2What we collect

• Searches: when you plan a journey we record the start and destination you chose (a stop, landmark or a map point rounded to about 100 m), how many results were found and the time. We do not link searches to your name, account or IP address. We use them to improve routes and to show “most searched” routes.
• Page popularity: we count how often routes, stops and places are viewed, as daily totals only.
• Messages and reports: if you use the Contact form or “Report a problem”, we store your message and the details you give us (name, email, optional phone) so we can reply and fix the data. We keep a one-way hash of your IP address to prevent spam — not the address itself.
• App installs: the app registers a random device ID, app and OS version, language and a notification token so we can send service alerts and keep the bus data up to date.
• Location (“Near me”): only when you tap “Near me” and allow it, your device sends its location once to find the closest stops. We do not store it.

3What stays on your device

• Saved trips, favourite stops and recent searches on the website are kept in your browser’s storage, not on our servers.
• Your language and light/dark theme choices are remembered on your device.

4Cookies and advertising

• The website uses a small number of essential cookies for security and to keep the site working.
• When advertising is switched on, ads are provided by Google (AdSense on the web, AdMob in the app). Google may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads. You can learn more and manage ad personalisation in your Google settings at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

5How we use information

• To answer your questions and correct bus, stop and place information.
• To understand which routes and features are useful and improve them.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

6Sharing

• With service providers who host and run the service for us (for example our hosting provider and Google for ads and notifications), only as needed to provide it.
• If the law requires it.

• You can use JaipurBus without an account.
• You can refuse or turn off location access at any time in your browser or phone settings.
• You can clear saved items by clearing your browser storage or the app data.
• You can ask us to delete a message you sent us by writing to us.
